Yelp: the platform ChatGPT reads
The short version
In July 2026, OpenAI and Yelp signed a data partnership. Since then, ChatGPT grounds local business answers partly in Yelp data. Your Yelp record stopped being a review site profile and became source material for the most-used AI engine in the country. What changed
For twenty years Yelp mattered because customers read it. Now the machine reads it. When somebody asks ChatGPT for an emergency plumber, part of the answer is assembled from Yelp's records: names, addresses, phones, categories, hours, and the shape of your reviews.
Most owners have not looked at their own Yelp page in years. It was built from crowdsourced data, old records, and whatever a long-gone employee typed in. That neglect used to cost you the Yelp crowd. Now it costs you the AI answer.
What usually breaks
Unclaimed pages compiled from stale data. Old business names that survived a rebrand. Addresses from two moves ago. Categories that describe the business you ran in 2015. Duplicate pages splitting your review history in half.

Why hand correction matters here
Yelp responds to a claimed, corrected, actively-owned profile. This is one of the three records MachineFound corrects by hand during onboarding rather than trusting to sync alone, and a hand-claimed record stays yours permanently, even if you cancel the service.
